Arcadio Barbero was appointed Group Executive - Americas for the Thiess Group in July 2026.

Arcadio has more than 35 years’ experience across the mining and infrastructure sectors, having held senior leadership roles throughout Australia, North America and South America. He has a track record of establishing and growing contracting businesses in developing markets, delivering complex projects, and building high-performing teams focused on safety, operational excellence and client value.

Before joining Thiess, Arcadio was Operations Manager for CPB Contractors in New South Wales and the ACT, where he provided governance and strategic oversight across several major infrastructure projects and supported business development and commercial performance, strengthening relationships with government and private sector stakeholders. Prior to CPB, Arcadio held senior leadership positions with EPSA across Australia, Mexico and Chile.

Arcadio’s operational and leadership responsibilities have spanned a broad range of mining and infrastructure environments, project delivery models and stakeholder groups, including client engagement, leadership development and project delivery.

Arcadio holds a Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of León, Spain, and the Higher Technical College of Mining Engineering, University of Córdoba, Spain.
