Thiess’ innovative approach will ensure the best outcome for the client, providing greater sustainable value and further enhancing our position in Indonesia.
Thiess is providing mining services at the project’s Hanoman pit including mine planning, design and execution, drill and blast, waste removal and rehabilitation, and port operations.
Thiess will share resources across the Arutmin-owned, CLS-managed Satui and Bayan’s Wahana coal mines, and has undertaken the mine planning and engineering to develop these two mines as a single operation.
We have been providing unique solutions at these adjacent pits in Satui since 2015, which enables us to maximise coal recoveries and extend the reserves.
Thiess is implementing our fleet management system that will optimise productivity with fewer work hours and boost our fuel savings. Our drone fleet will continue to improve safety by reducing people and heavy equipment interaction in high-risk areas.
Furthering our strong commitment to ESG, we have started working with the people of Sejahtera Mulia village to build a water treatment plant. Thiess is proud to create a lasting legacy for the Satui community who have become part of our extended family.
We will also continue to build a diverse and respectful workplace by continuing to increase the participation of women and people with a disability. The project team have been sincerely working hard to create a workplace where everyone matters.
