Overview
At an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, the Encuentro Oxides Project is located in the Antofagasta Region, 145km north east of the Antofagasta township, 65km south west of Calama and 33km east of Sierra Gorda.
Encuentro Oxides will contribute to the production of 50,000 tonnes of copper cathode per year.
The copper mine and nearby processing facility is owned by Antofagasta Minerals, a copper-focused mining group. The mine consists of a single pit and the Thiess scope includes pre-strip of 57mbcm by mid-2019.

Pre-strip operations commenced in August 2014, and the project has a planned mine life of approximately 15 years.
