Cadetship Program

Thiess is inviting Expressions of Interest from aspiring professionals who are keen to develop their technical capabilities through our Cadetship Program.

Our Cadetship Program provides a pathway into professional Technical Services careers across our operations. The program supports participants to undertake part-time study while continuing to work, gaining valuable hands-on experience within operational and technical teams.

Through the program, participants may be eligible to receive:

• Support to study part-time while maintaining full time employment
• Reimbursement of approved course fees upon successful completion of subjects
• On-the-job learning and practical industry experience
• Mentoring and professional development opportunities
• Exposure to a range of projects, sites and technical disciplines
• Additional development through initiatives such as the Thiess Graduate Advisor Program, Graduate Development Modules and Graduate Mining Education Series

Cadetship opportunities are typically available within disciplines such as:

• Mining Engineering
• Surveying
• Other technical disciplines, assessed on a case-by-case basis

Program arrangements are tailored to individual circumstances and chosen fields of study. Cadets are generally provided opportunities to gain exposure across different projects, functions and operational environments during their development journey.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

• Are passionate about developing a career in the mining industry
• Are eligible to enrol, or are currently enrolled, in a relevant tertiary qualification
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and professional development

Relevant study pathways may include:

• AusIMM-recognised Bachelor or Associate Degrees in Mining Engineering
• Surveying programs recognised by the relevant state registration authorities
• Other approved technical qualifications relevant to the mining industr

Successful applicants invited into the program will be expected to maintain satisfactory academic progress and ongoing enrolment throughout their studies.
