Overview
Since 2003, Thiess in Indonesia has operated open pits at Sangatta, one of the world’s largest thermal coal reserves.
The KPC mine in Sangatta has been an important part of the Thiess business for more than 30 years.
Thiess provides mining and fleet hire services for Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), including land preparation, loading and hauling, asset management, rehabilitation, and additional equipment rental and maintenance.
The KPC mine in Sangatta has been an important part of the Thiess business for over 30 years, with a current total workforce of over 2,000 personnel, we are proud to be able to contribute to our clients' continued success, with our strong record of safe operations.
We will continue to deliver our ESG commitments to the Sangatta community who have become our extended family since we set foot in this world's largest open pit mining city for the first time in 1989.
