Advancing mine rehabilitation through autonomous technology

Thiess continued their collaboration with Caterpillar, UQ and ACARP to advance Semi-Autonomous Tractor Systems (SATS) and SATS Tactical Automated Mission Planner (STAMP) application development.

A 10-day trial at Lake Vermont Mine supported the application development for mine rehabilitation, focusing on path and block planning to optimise operator decision-making and reduce cognitive load. Initiated in 2021, the trial aims to provide data for UQ to develop a beta solution with future commercialisation potential.
