Thiess’ Dean Gossip creates lasting value

When Dean Gossip talks about energised career options he means it literally.

 
Dean joined Thiess’ Mt Arthur Coal team as a breakdown fitter 18 months ago and went on to gain experience as a leading hand and relief supervisor.
Today, he is Thiess’ newly appointed Maintenance Supervisor on the project. 
“I’ve seen the project expand significantly from when I started and I’m proud to be a part of the team,” Dean said.
“I’ve learnt a broad range of skills including management skills.”
Dean says his desire to overcome challenges and ability to perform in a fast-paced environment has helped shape his career.
“I love the challenges that come with my role. I feel a sense of accomplishment when they are resolved.”
He acknowledges the importance of his team’s culture and encourages a positive attitude to deliver results.
“I have a great team that I work with and it’s truly what I enjoy most about coming to work every day.
“I’m empowered through seeing my friends around me achieve their goals and it inspires me to do the same.”
