Using satellites to improve network capabilities

In 2024, we introduced a Mobile Communications Unit (MCU), a compact and rugged unit that offers reliable high-speed internet in isolated locations. Equipped with a built-in firewall for secure access, wireless connections, and a network switch to support up to five wired devices, the unit is built for fast deployment to provide our people with internet access in remote areas.

The team have now deployed multiple units across Australia and Canada. We are investigating its application for mobile office locations, disaster response capability and fast temporary connectivity at remote work sites.
