Appointed Chief Financial Officer of CIMIC Group in June 2023. Derek was formerly UGL's Chief Financial Officer, responsible for leading the UGL finance team through a period of transformation.
Prior to UGL, Derek was CIMIC Group’s Executive General Manager, Finance. He led the integration of new businesses, including CIMIC’s acquisition of UGL in 2016.Prior to joining the Group, Derek was a Director at Deloitte where he spent over a decade working in both Australia and the UK, specialising in the construction, mining and utilities sectors.
Derek holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accountancy and Economics from the University of Strathclyde and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.
Derek is the Group Functional Lead for Finance.
