The isolation and Starter Protection Electrical Upgrade (ISPU) is one such example. Effectively a collection of modifications for large Liebherr excavators, this system simplifies the isolation process and prevents electrical component damage as a result of improper machine operation. Automatically isolation the starter circuits during operation, the the entire machine after a period of inactivity, provides additional protection. All large Liebherr excavators in the Thiess fleet, from 9250s to 9800s, will be fitted with the IPSU. Liebherr supports the modification and will specify similar isolation hardware for future excavator and shovel models. "
